Every shop can be unique in it’s own way, but there are some very unusual and original shops around the world. Here are some of them.
1. Zhongshuge, Yangzhou

Simply put, Zhongshuge is every bibliophile’s dream come true. The bookstore and library is located in China’s Yangzhou, features black mirrored floors and arched shelves that touch the ceiling, creating an optical illusion of a never-ending tunnel of books. It looks like it is from the future. If you’re browsing alone, head to the adult reading room to catch up on some essential reading.
2. Gentle Monster, Dubai

The Korean eyewear company relishes in taking visitors on a journey through its moving installations, sculptures and handcrafted objects that highlight the various stages of harvest. Take, for example, their newly-opened flagship store in the Middle East, which focuses on a theme of ‘future farms’—a concept explained on their Instagram page. “Imagine the future farms cultivated in the harmony of humans and robots,” reads a caption to a post on their feed.
3. Story, New York

Exploring the idea of a living magazine, New York’s Story changes its façade every two months. Calling themselves a “narrative driven retail concept” store, Story’s new theme translates into both its curated collection of merchandise and its interiors, presenting a brand new story (hence, the name) for customers every eight weeks.
