School leaving review

Name, surname, grade

Nane Khachatryan, 9th grade

How are my elective subjects related to my future career?

My elective subject is biology. I am not sure yet but I want my future profession to be related to this subject, because I find it very interesting. I have a list of professions related to it like a doctor, bioengineer, biologist and so on. The most interesting topics in biology for me are about the evolution, how life came to earth, the genetics, natural selection of species and etc. I think that geneticist is also a very interesting profession. If I decide to choose one of this professions, I will continue to study biology in depth and will focus also on other favourite subjects that I will need to be more educated.

Do my abilities, character traits, and hobbies match my future career?

For hobby I can say that it is reading. I love to read, and I think that it will help my future profession, because it develops my imagination, logic, vocabulary replenishes, broadens my horizons. With reading, people begin to write without mistakes and become more literate. It also develops speech. And all this will be useful to me for my future profession.
I have the following personal qualities — diligence, accuracy, I always try to do my best for my work to be ideal, a serious attitude to work, composure. I remember quite well the given materials and lessons. I think that these are quite strong points that will help me in life, including achieving success.

What educational projects and research activities have I carried out that may be related to my future profession?

I carried out two projects from biology. The first one is on heredity. In this project I did a research about main hereditary traits, mutations and so on. The second one is dedicated to a surgical treatment for Parkinson’s disease, that is called Deep Brain Stimulation. If I become a doctor or anything related to it, I think this project will be useful.

What books and articles have I read that really meet my interests?

I usually don’t read books that are related to biology or maths, I’m mainly interested in detectives, romances, adventure, fiction and other genres. But I have read a book, it’s called “Flowers for Algernon” by Daniel Keyes. It’s about a mentally disabled man, that was given a chance to become very intelligent, but the treatment failed and he gradually lost his abilities again. I liked the psychological aspect of this book, which meets my interests in biology.

Have the meetings with the invited specialists at the educational complex played any role in my professional orientation?

Where will I continue my education after leaving the 9th grade?

After leaving the 9th grade I will stay in the Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educomplex’s high school. I will do it because I hadn’t decided my future career yet so I will continue studying like usual, without focusing on individual subjects. I hope that during the time before my graduation I will finally have a decision about my profession and will focus on necessary subjects.
